<image:caption>A puukko forged for a ‘Knife in the Hat’ exchange, in which everyone forges something to a certain theme. For this specific exchange, the restraint was to use only material lying around in the shop and would otherwise probably be discarded as scrap. For this blade, it is forged from other failed projects and cutoffs forge-welded together, a piece of copper bus, and scrap wood and leather. The complete process can be seen here: https://shardsofthedarkage.blogspot.com/2015/09/drengjvalunnr.html</image:caption>

      <image:title>Past Work - Mandola</image:title>
<image:caption>Over the course of approximately a year, using a towel folded in half at the foot of my bed for the majority of the workshop and moving twice throughout the process, I built a mandola inspired guitar from scratch. This is the first serious woodworking project I undertook, and having never played the guitar or held one long enough to understand many things I learned through trial and error, the result is an acoustically functional instrument. The goal of the project was to replace the void of music left after 16 years of symphonic, jazz, and swing percussion became difficult to continue with the space constraints of apartment life. <image:title>Collaborations - Pattern Welded Spear</image:title>
<image:caption>A composite, pattern welded spear forged primarily between my good friends Dave DelaGardelle and Robert Burns, with a little in the core by myself and Pete Braspennix. The core and socket are forged from the axle of an old farming apparatus we excavated from the forest, originally hoped to be wrought iron but in reality a plain carbon steel. The inner, brighter layer is pattern welded wrought iron and pure nickel, while the outer is alternating high carbon (1095) nickel (15n20) steels. Both pattern welded billets were done in a ‘jelly roll’ pattern where the straight laminate is forged into a sheet and then curled around itself before being forged back into a bar. This is one of two spears made in 2015 at Dave’s old workshop, the process seen here: https://youtu.be/pmT8WF57m6M</image:caption>

      <image:title>Collaborations - Post Malone's Sword</image:title>
<image:caption>Sword forged for Post Malone on behalf of the American Airlines Arena in Miami, FL as a collaboration between myself and Dave DelaGardelle of Cedarlore Forge, Luke Shearer, Collin Miller, and Ryan Stephens. We had an extremely tight deadline so it was forged collectively in Texas, Missouri, Indiana, and Ohio in the span of only about two weeks. I prepared and welded the steel for the blade, drew it out into the rough shape, and forged the wrought iron guard.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Woodworking - Mandola</image:title>
<image:caption>Over the course of approximately a year, using a towel folded in half at the foot of my bed for the majority of the workshop and moving twice throughout the process, I built a mandola inspired guitar from scratch. This is the first serious woodworking project I undertook, and having never played the guitar or held one long enough to understand many things I learned through trial and error, the result is an acoustically functional instrument. The goal of the project was to replace the void of music left after 16 years of symphonic, jazz, and swing percussion became difficult to continue with the space constraints of apartment life. See the full 14 part construction process here: https://shardsofthedarkage.blogspot.com/p/woodworking.html</image:caption>

See the full 14 part construction process here: https://shardsofthedarkage.blogspot.com/p/woodworking.html</image:caption>
